BRUSSEL - Wonen mag dan voor steeds meer gezinnen onbetaalbaar worden, er zijn nog ultrarijken die niet kijken op een paar tienduizend euro meer of minder per vierkante meter.

De absolute toplocatie, als we vastgoedspecialist Engel & Völkers mogen geloven, is de Avenue d’Ostende in Monaco, waar afgelopen jaar een penthouse met zicht op de Monegaskische jachthaven werd verkocht voor 240 miljoen euro. De Arabische koper betaalde omgerekend 148.000 euro per vierkante meter.Volgens Engel & Völkers, dat wereldwijd actief is in het absolute topsegment van de vastgoedmarkt, is dat de hoogste prijs per vierkante meter die ooit voor een penthouse werd betaald.

Dat Monaco niet de goedkoopste plek is, weet allicht iedereen, maar dat de baai van Romazzino in Sardinië op de tweede plaats komt met 100.000 euro per vierkante meter, klinkt verrassend. Veel verrassender in elk geval dan Londen dat met de wijk Knightsbridge in Kensington de derde plaats opeist.

De Azurenkust, die eigenlijk in het verlengde ligt van Monaco, is – niet onverwacht – goed vertegenwoordigd met Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat en Cannes. Frankrijk is een populair land, zo blijkt, want Parijs prijkt met de Avenue Montaigne op de zesde plaats en is dus goed voor de helft van de plaatsen in de top zes. Verder wordt het lijstje vervolledigd met nog drie Zwitserse, even veel Duitse, twee Spaanse locaties en één Oostenrijkse.

Op de laatste plaats prijkt de populaire vakantiebestemming Mallorca met Cap de Formentor, het noordelijkste punt van het eiland, waar kopers tot 12.200 euro betalen per vierkante meter. Dat is minder dan een twaalfde van het penthouse in Monaco, maar nog steeds zowat het tienvoudige van de prijs van een modaal huis in ons land.

‘We stellen vast,’ zegt Philippe Rosy van Engel & Völkers, ‘dat de hoogste prijzen gehaald worden op extreem exclusieve locaties waar tegelijk ook zeer weinig aanbod is. Door de schaarste en omdat het gaat om felbegeerde liggingen, stijgen de prijzen er ver boven het gemiddelde.’

The real estate firm Engel & Völkers and its “list local, sell global” philosophy has moved into Snug Harbor.

License partners Lucy Pilon, Donna Fernandes and Christine Silva opened the office at 453 Washington St. March 7. Pilon, who serves as manager of the Duxbury office, joined the company in June. She said residents are invited to stop in and check out the new location for the expanding company.

“We’re the only real estate company expanding in the United States,” she said.

Pilon said being right next to the Post Office gives the company great visibility on a busy road. She said the company has wanted to move into Duxbury for some time. “It was just about finding the perfect location for Engel & Völkers, and this popped up,” she said.

Engel & Völkers specializes in the brokerage of premium residential real estate, both locally and globally. The company was established in Hamburg, Germany, in 1977 and has expanded to more than 38 countries, serving six continents around the world. Engel & Völkers entered the U.S. market in 2007 with offices in Florida, California and New England. Pilon invites residents to pick up a copy of the latest GG (Global Guide) lifestyle magazine at the office.

She said they consider it a privilege to not only be in Duxbury but also to be a contributing part of the town’s uniqueness.

The licence partners in the Zurich canton have recently opened their third shop. All of the shops are located in Zurich Nord. The latest shop opened it’s doors in Wallisellen.

Wallisellen is a municipality situated in the north of Switzerland, which forms part of the Zurich metropolitan region. Zurich’s city centre is only around ten minutes’ drive away.

Engel & Völkers Sint-Martens-Latem was one of the main sponsors of the benefit concert organized by the Lions Club Gent Gandalys from the 25th of March untill the 27th of March.

The featured artists were “SCALA & Kolacny Brothers”, a world renowned Belgian girls choir, conducted by Stijn Kolacny and arranged and accompanied by Steven Kolacny on the piano. The benefit concert was spread over 3 days with 1 performance a day.  The venue, a local peugeot and volvo dealership was transformed to a concert venue, seating around 600 people and was completely sold out. Because it was the last concert of “Scala & Kolacny Brothers” in Belgian, they flew back from New York just to give this concert, before kicking of their USA and CANADA tour. The E&V Sint-Martens-Latem team was present on the first of three concert evenings, to admire the powerfull voices of the singers as well as to mingle and give away 200+ GG’s to the attendees.
